Message from the Minister

Welcome to the website of the Annapolis Park Church of Christ, where it is our mission to "save souls and keep souls saved, through preaching, teaching, loving, caring and equipping!" We, as a congregation, make it our aim to model what Jesus says in John 13:34 and 35: "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."
Not only do we love one another, but the primary object of our love is God Himself. When asked, "Master, which is the great commandment in the law?" (Matthew 22:36), Jesus responded, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind" (Matthew 22:37). This manifests itself in our worship of Him. Worship is essential to the accomplishment of God's purposes in human life, as is faith. The beliefs created by the revelation of God in the Person of Jesus Christ, as recorded in the New Testament, constitute the idea side of Christianity; but worship is necessary as a means of expressing and cultivating reverence and of developing piety and obedience. Worship purifies, deepens and strengthens the feelings or emotions. It is not just what we believe about God and Jesus, it is the way we feel toward them that determines what we become and do in relationship to them.
In John 4:23 and 24 we read, "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." To worship God "in spirit" is to worship Him with all of our heart. Our understanding, will, emotions, attitudes, and actions are involved in worship. To worship God "in truth" is to worship Him according to His instructions, which are found in the New Testament as they relate to the church of Christ that began on the first Pentecost following the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead as recorded in Acts 2.
We encourage all to join us in this wonderful experience of worship here at the Annapolis Park Church of Christ. You will find the times of worship and Bible study assemblies elsewhere within this website. And always remember that God loves you, Jesus died for you, we love you, and we are your servants for Jesus' sake!

From January - March, the Child Development Center is offering a discounted rate of $135/week for Summer Camp. The early enrollment discount ends March 31, 2009.
